The Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM) Program serves organizations and individuals whose objective is to produce high-performance trade show and event marketing programs with measurable bottom line results.

An employee who enrolls as a CTSM candidate is an investment in the future success of your organization. CTSM provides a proven return on investment for organizations by transforming staff into skilled and knowledgeable marketing professionals.
What every manager should know before their employee becomes a candidate for CTSM certification:
CTSM is the only University-Affiliated Professional Certification Program for trade show and event marketers.
CTSM is the most comprehensive training program available anywhere, dedicated to teaching best practices. Developed in conjunction with Northern Illinois University (NIU) Outreach, certification requirements include a curriculum of 23 required sessions and 7.5 hours of elective sessions. While some other programs certify what a candidate already knows, CTSM requires completion of a list of core sessions from seven distinct learning tracks to provide a solid, well-balanced foundation of new skills and competencies.

Candidates not only take tests, they're required to prove results.
To graduate (attain certification), CTSM candidates write a portfolio project case study describing how they applied the skills developed through the curriculum to improve their organization's own program.
Professional Development for Experienced Employees.
Individuals with five or more years of experience have options for more advanced learning electives in place of basic ones, providing more relevance to your employee's responsibilities. Progress toward certification is paced according to your employee's job demands and available time. Opportunities to complete required sessions and electives include: EXHIBITORLIVE, EXHIBITOR Education Week, and online through EXHIBITOR eTrak.

Your employee will
have lots of help.

CTSM offers candidates support through one-on-one assistance to schedule their sessions and ensure their learning goals are met as they advance efficiently toward certification. Upon enrollment, Program Mentors welcome new candidates to CTSM and answer questions. Our Academic Advisor is available for guidance and CTSM provides Graduate Advisors to work with candidates on their written portfolios. And finally, among the most valuable connections CTSM enrollees forge, is a strong peer network of professionals who "do what they do."
