Fira de Barcelona and Hostelco Launch Mexico Hospitality Expo

5/6/2025

The Mexican city of Guadalajara hosts the first edition of Mexico Hospitality Expo (MHE), a new event resulting from the alliance between Fira de Barcelona – through its Hostelco brand – and Expo Guadalajara. The event, focused on the hotel and restaurant industry, is committed to innovation and sustainability and aims to become the leading hub for all the actors in the industry in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.

The event spreads over 9,000 m2 in which it will bring together over 300 participating brands to showcase solutions in equipment and machinery; technology; tableware and table service; furniture, interior design and textiles; food and beverages; delivery, transport and services for hotels and restaurants. The companies come from a total of 10 countries that, in addition to Mexico itself, include Spain, Italy, USA, Belgium, France, Sweden, Japan, Peru and China.

MHE expects a total of 5,000 visitors, 15% of whom come from Central America and the Caribbean, from the areas of hotel chains; restaurants, cafeterias and franchises; spas and wellness centers; hospitals and health centers; gastronomy schools; and the contract channel.

The event also has a full programme of conferences that brings together more than 50 national and international speakers to address key topics such as energy efficiency, circular economy, digitalisation, sustainable design and technology-driven customer experiences.

The agenda includes the Quarterly Meeting of the National Assembly of the Hotel and Motel Association and the III International Congress of the International Circle of Hotel Managers, whose speakers include Claudia Cárdenas, VP of Human Resources at Talent4Process; Enrique Suarez del Tostado, Secretary of Tourism of the State of Nayarit; and Miguel Angel Bermejo, VP of Human Resources at Hyatt Inclusive Collection.

The event is also hosting the 6th edition of the Encuentro Internacional Hospitality Design & Wellness: México-Caribe, organised for the first time outside Spain by Piscina Barcelona, the most international European trade show for swimming pools, wellness and outdoor facilities, which will take place in November in the Catalan capital. It is a conference with presentations, case studies, round tables and business meetings aimed at architects, interior designers, hotel and wellness centre managers, as well as solution providers. The main speakers are the Wellness Hospitality Architect Ana Ramírez and the Design Director at Gensler Mexico, Nadja Borrás.

Live experiences
The event will also be committed to live experiences and specialization workshops. In this sense, the Horeca Hub space stands out, which hosts live cooking demonstrations, talks by chefs and tastings; and mixology, wine and spirits tasting and workshops. In addition, MHE will feature a space dedicated to the world of coffee.

Fira de Barcelona, an international platform
MHE is part of the programme of events that Fira de Barcelona organises outside Spain in 2025. With a dozen confirmed events, the trade fair institution is reinforcing its expansion strategy abroad.
