Exhibitor Group Partners with The Experiential Designers and Producers Association (EDPA) to Host One-day Educational Certificate Program

10/24/2025

ROCHESTER, MN - Exhibitor Group and The Experiential Designers and Producers Association (EDPA) have teamed up to host a one-day certificate program titled Trade Show Foundations: Mastering the Basics. The program's goal is to provide an introduction and help jump-start the careers of trade show marketing professionals who are new to the industry, or to provide a refresher for those looking to widen their knowledge.

"We've learned from EXHIBITORLIVE post-show surveys that 40% of our attendees are first-timers at the event, and 25% have five or fewer years of trade show industry experience," said Stephanie Gibbs, CTSM, general manager of Exhibitor Group. "This has left many companies having less institutional expertise than they'd like, for both corporate marketers and industry suppliers."

This one-day program, which will next be held online on Thursday, November 13, will cover:
  • The purpose, history, size, and significance of trade shows in various economic sectors
  • Basic trade show components, types of exhibits, configuration categories, and venues
  • Companies, suppliers, facilities, and jobs in the trade show ecosystem
  • Exhibit design and development, from decision-making to load-out
  • Show services, technical aspects, and on-site logistics
  • Key elements of an effective and seamless trade show experience
"Many of the small- to medium-sized vendors and suppliers that comprise this industry struggle with developing industry orientation courses," said Steve Deckel, EDPA education committee chair. "We are taking on this role for them because we know that having a broad understanding of the trade show ecosystem will help industry professionals understand the significance of their specific role and how it fits in to the industry, which will inspire a compelling career path vision."

Trade Show Foundations: Mastering the Basics is a 4.5 hour class comprised of three 90-minute sessions held over the course of one day. Attendance at all 3 parts of the course is required to receive your certificate. This session is presented by Stephanie Gibbs, CTSM, and Kelly Brown, general manager at STAR Exhibits.

An in-person program will also be held in March of 2026 during EXHIBITORLIVE in Tampa, Florida.

The registration fees are $495.00 for EDPA members and $895.00 for non-EDPA members. To learn more and register to attend Trade Show Foundations: Mastering the Basics, please visit www.ExhibitorOnline.com/TSF.
