Back in Black
Take a second to envision a trade show booth for an automated logistics-system provider. Did you conjure a digital spectacle filled with drama and intrigue? Probably not. After all, logistics are all about predictability and consistency. But unconventional is exactly what Dematic Corp. was going for at MODEX 2024 by shattering the show's product-heavy norms and offering a decidedly digital experience.
The dramatic black stand employed a manipulated oval shape. Designers made a cut on each side and offset the halves to create two openings into the booth's interior. However, as attendees approached the 35-by-70-foot space, an anamorphic screen suspended above one corner of the booth offering 3-D animations of Dematic's solutions is what immediately caught their eyes.
Beneath the screen, vibrant LED video bars provided synchronized light waves while the space between them offered a glimpse into interior environs. Drawn close by a 3-D illuminated Dematic logo and a series of illuminated arrows, attendees maneuvered through a curved hallway to enter the inner sanctum.
Here, they discovered more bold-black architecture — from the walls and hospitality bar to bistro-height tables and chairs. However, just as prominent were two floor-to-ceiling concave LED video walls, with one dedicated to digital storytelling and the other offering an interactive virtual reality (VR) experience. The immersive digitized experience surrounded visitors with Dematic's solutions and brand story, making ancillary demos obsolete. E
